| About July Films
July Films aims to create and share theatrical films that inspire
wonderful thoughts about life, through means of traditional hand-
drawn animation.
Because of its unique qualities, traditional animated films have
immense appeal, widely embraced by audiences of all ages world-
wide. To live, to learn, to share thoughts about hopes and dreams,
to speak of life experiences in all its colors, hardships, comforts and
joys, are qualities July aspires to express through its films.
To achieve its goals with relatively low costs, July relies on a streamline
production system, avoiding unnecessary overhead costs by entrusting its
power in the individual commitment of its small staff on all aspects of the
company. July recognizes that each team member is an artist in his or her
own right, with unique visions and various artistic strengths. Each is fully
capable of handling multiple responsibilities such as visual development,
story-boarding, layout, and animation performances. By breaking away from
the assembly line management system, work does not become bottlenecked,
giving the artists the opportunity to be fully involved at all times. More
importantly, it allows the artists to make substantial contributions, and to
grow artistically on equal terms.
Traditional animation is a beautiful art form. By relying on its strength in
pantomime, it can break language barriers, and become accessible to all.
Another aspect is its exaggerated nature of forms in motion, allowing the
medium to capture a heightened sense of reality. July's goal is to further
explore the infinite possibilities of this medium's range of expression.
Going to see animated film at a young age is often a magical experience,
leaving a lasting impression. July Films recognizes this responsibility to future
generations. And because traditional animation is fully capable of reflecting the
intricate feelings of the human nature, July hopes that its films will not only reach
out to children, but also to touch audiences of all ages.
Determined not to lose sight of its vision, July Films looks forward to growth,
and aspires to build an endearing, timeless collection of traditional hand-drawn
animated films; and perhaps beyond…
